I noticed that it took place in a town called Clinton. Therefore, we can say “IT’S CLINTON’S FAULT!”
If you want to try to literally get away with murder, you can claim that you didn’t know the gun was loaded. If you knew full well that the gun was loaded, no one can PROVE you knew it.
Wot? Lemme make sure this gun ain’t loaded. Blamo!
Even this backwoodsman must know you never aim at a person, even unloaded. I suspect this is a family quarrel that escalated to murder. Lock him up.
That’s Missouri for ya. I like that part where ‘Papa’ gave the kid the unloaded gun to “play with” earlier in the evening. The fact that the grandfather didn’t seem overly bothered that he shot and killed his own grandkid is really sad.
