Patriotism has always been a strange thing to me especially blind patriotism. None of us has any say in where we’re born it’s just random chance. I certainly don’t think that the accidental place of my birth makes me superior to anyone. Critiquing things makes them better that’s how you improve things. I’d consider that to be a much more patriotic act than fetishising a flag. Blind patriotism is how we get wars and genocides.
