The statement “Let’s agree to disagree” suggests that there are two opinions of equal validity, and that both sides should have mutual respect of the other viewpoint.
In many instances I cannot agree to disagree and don’t want to do so. Far too many opinions are just plain wrong. (For example, a belief that horse paste is more effective against covid than the vaccines.)
